It was a busy evening of Monday stricken by the blues prevailing over working class people across the world. Some of our staffs left for their homes and some were packing their paraphernalia for the next day. Two of my subordinates and I were sitting in my cabin and discussing our next day’s work and there rang my phone breaking into the seriousness of the discussion. It rang for a few seconds. I halted to think for a while looking at the mobile number flashing on my BlackBerry screen ‘who that might be?’
Before it could end on its own, I pressed the green button meant for receiving calls. A husky yet faint voice tried to tell me something. I felt as if someone was asking something to me but, could not understand exactly what he said. I asked him to tone up the volume. Acting on the request, instantly he adjusted his voice by producing cacophonous sound in order to get rid of something stuck in the throat. He cleaned his throat and said “Sir, is it Vijay?” I asked him who he wanted to talk to as we had many people by the same name. He said that any would do but must be Vijay by name.
On asking what he wanted, he mentioned that he wanted us to create Facebook for him and deliver that to his address. It sounded very ambiguous to us. He wanted us to create a Facebook for him or to his company, which is all right but, deliver the Facebook account to his shop address was dubious. We kept on asking question pertaining to his wacky request but he insisted on the same that he needed a Facebook account created for him.
Do you have any idea of what exactly was he looking for or why did he call us? We are a company dealing in Search Engine Optimization, Social Media Optimization, Software and Web Development services. We thought he must have got our reference from the internet or from any of our existing or previous clients.
Guys, to our shock, the person wanted us to create a Facebook page for his shop and the Facebook was to be delivered to the shop address. He also mentioned that his owner was very honest and would pay in cash on the delivery of the page that too with the invoice of the Facebook page creation. We failed to understand how we would deliver the page to his shop address in person. If anyone has any idea, please let us know as the client wants us to do the job for him. Mark his words that his owner is very honest and will pay in cash.
We went crazy after he hung up and we looked at one another and burst into laughter. Our Monday blues burnt in laughter.
